Bendigo based contemporary conceptual photo-media artist, Tashara Roberts, works mainly with photography, but also has interests in film, mixed media, painting, sculpture, music, performance and jewellery. She describes her work as a shape shifting therapy that takes many forms and keeps her out of trouble.
Tashara has Australian Aboriginal heritage, as well as English and German. Born in 1979, her family moved around a lot until she was 7 when the family moved to the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia. in 2014 she moved to the Central Victorian town of Bendigo, which had always been close to her heart as it is the birthplace of her grandparents.
Tashara has always had a romance with the camera, wanting to use her lens to show people what it was like looking at the world through her eyes. In her spare time she photographs landscapes and wildlife, she says she finds it calming.
